
These days, it's common knowledge that the City of Stockton is the poster child for the downturn in the real estate market. Well, how good are the deals?
Just recently, I've had the good fortune of visiting Stockton to help one of my good friends relocate there for work, and from that experience I was able to see just how good the opportunities were.
While there are many homes on sale in Stockton, it wasn't all that bad especially in some of the more premiere neighborhoods. THere are Short Sales, and REO's, but overall I've found that there's been agressive bidding for these homes while the prices are so attractive. For example, a 2500-3000 Square Foot property, with high quality finishes, and ready to move-in condition, can be expected to go for about $350,000 in these top neighborhoods. For a home near the Bay Area, this is quite a steal, and for some folks, it is worth the commute.
